Mildew Blues

from Wild & Free by Jenny Biddle

/

about

Since moving from Australia to Scotland, the weather was a slight shock to the system for young Jenny Biddle. With a history of depression, it was likely the gloomy winters would get to her. Despite this, she decided to craft her experience into a bright, upbeat, and seriously catchy blues tune. You'll get this one stuck in your head.

lyrics

I’ve been growing mildew in the back of my mind
I left the sunny weather for the love of my life
And all the country singers are singin’ bout stormy times
Well I thought I’d put together my own mildew rhyme

I got the mildew blues
The mildew blues
I got the mildew blues
The mildew blues
I’ve been walkin’ around
With a head full of mildew blues

Now I ain’t the kinda person to side step the rain
I don’t wanna be one of them people who sugar coat the pain
I won’t be found fermenting around in a mood
But I can’t seem to shake these old mildew blues

I got the mildew blues
The mildew blues
I got the mildew blues
The mildew blues
I’ve been walkin’ around
With a head full of mildew blues

I love my pretty baby but I can’t stand the rain
I wanna go back to the sunshine again
All these rainclouds are getting me down
I can’t find a way to turn this around

I got the mildew blues
The mildew blues
I got the mildew blues
The mildew blues
I’ve been walkin’ around
With a head full of mildew blues
